utopia 56 / At the Border of Indifference / Marina Foïs
A broadcast genai film that documents a silent tragedy through a simple, lasting symbol.
Fred & Farid Paris created a 25-second film for Utopia 56 to shed light on the deadly crossings between France and the UK. Drawing on the reality that at least 78 people died in 2024 attempting to cross the Channel, the film translates an often invisible tragedy into a clear visual metaphor: carnations floating on the surface of the sea, each one honoring a life lost. Developed with GenAI studio [Ai]magination the piece features a restrained voice-over by Marina Foïs, with sound post-production. The film aired on France Télévisions in December 2025 and on TF1 in early 2026, supporting Utopia 56’s call for safe passage and dignified reception.
