Fridays for Future / 1%
A wake-up call for 99% of humans on earth. we’d better fix climate change.
Founded by renowned activist Greta Thunberg, Fridays for Future is a global climate change movement uniting people in over 100 countries. With a focus on preserving Earth for its inhabitants now and in the future, much of Fridays for Future’s efforts have centered around building awareness of key issues impacting this mission.
One of the issues that we found particularly concerning was the ultra-elite’s obsession with abandoning Earth as more signs of life were found on other planets. While this 1% could easily spend millions of dollars to escape Earth, the truth is the rest of us — the 99% — would have to stay and deal with it. To highlight these inequalities, and point out the reality that the rest of the world would be left with, we launched a satirical tourism ad for the Red Planet on the same day the Perseverance rover touched down on Mars. Painting a picture of utopia, our campaign offered only one caveat – that only 1% of the population would be privileged enough to experience life within this enlightened society, while the rest of us have to live with the consequences on Earth. A sobering cry for action now, we rallied people around the world to point out the hypocrisy of the 1% and join our fight against climate change.
